Refund & Exchange Policy

Effective as of [13th October 2025]

1. Sales Are Final (With Exceptions)

All purchases from Melancholic Dreamers are final, except in cases where the item is proven to be defective or incorrectly fulfilled.

We regret that we cannot accept returns or exchanges simply because of sizing or preference errors (unless the product is faulty).

Important exception: For limited edition releases or exclusive drops, exchanges are not permitted at all, even if the size is wrong - unless the item is defective or we made an error.

2. When Faults or Fulfilment Errors Occur

If you receive a defective item, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, contact us as soon as possible (and before washing or altering the product). In those cases, we will:

- Provide you with a prepaid return label (if shipping originates from your location)

- Require you to return the item in its original packaging, tags attached

- Once we confirm the defect or error, either send a replacement or issue a full refund

If you refuse to return the incorrect item, we cannot process a replacement or refund.

3. Request Timing & Order Changes

If you’d like to cancel or adjust your order (size, colour, etc.), you must notify us within 12 hours of placing it. After this window closes, changes or cancellations may not be possible.

4. Customer Pays Return Shipping

Except in cases where we shipped the wrong item or it is defective, customers are responsible for all return shipping costs. For international orders, you’re also responsible for shipping the replacement back to your country, unless we decide otherwise.

5. Returns Due to Non-Delivery or “Return-to-Sender”

If a package is returned to us by the courier (e.g. undeliverable, unclaimed, wrong address), we may charge a €15 “Return-to-Sender” reshipment fee before sending it back out. The order will only be resent after you confirm the correct address and pay this fee via your original payment method.

6. Forced Refunds & Restocking

Suppose a return is made that doesn’t comply with this policy (e.g. outside time limits, missing original packaging, or refusal). In that case, we may issue a forced refund of the order subtotal (excluding original shipping) and deduct a restocking fee of €5–€10 per item.

7. Price Adjustments & Sale Items

We do not offer price adjustments or retroactive discounts if an item you bought goes on sale later.
Sale items (especially those in limited runs) are often final - no returns or exchanges are allowed unless the item is faulty.

8. How to Initiate a Refund/Exchange Request

To begin a claim:

1. Contact info@melancholicdreamers.com with:

- Order number

- Name on order

- Clear photos of the defect or issue

Wait for our confirmation and instructions (including return label, if applicable).

2. Send the item back according to instructions.

3. Once we receive and verify the item, we’ll issue a refund or replacement.

Refunds will be made to your original payment method. Please allow your bank or payment provider some time to process the credit.
